Text Message Terms

These are the terms for the Redway for Council 2026 text messaging program. They cover what the campaign will send, how often, what it costs you, and how to stop it.

Last updated: August 24, 2026

What the program is

Redway for Council 2026 sends campaign updates, volunteer and event information, and reminders about voting to people who have asked to receive them. Messages come from the campaign. They are not automated sales messages and they are never sent to people who have not opted in.

How you join

You join by entering your mobile number and ticking the consent box on the campaign's volunteer form at redway4council.com/get-involved, or by telling a campaign volunteer in person that you want to receive texts.

The box is never ticked for you, and it is never a condition of volunteering, contributing, or getting help from the campaign.

Frequency, cost, and your carrier

  • Message frequency varies. Expect more messages close to Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
  • Message and data rates may apply. The campaign does not charge you anything to receive these messages, but your mobile plan may.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Supported by major US carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Boost, MetroPCS, and Virgin Mobile. T-Mobile is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any message from the campaign and we will stop texting you. You will get one confirmation that you have been removed, and then nothing further.

You do not have to get the keyword exactly right. If you reply asking us to stop in your own words, the campaign treats that as an opt-out and removes you. If a message still reaches you after you have asked us to stop, write to info@redway4council.com and we will fix it.

Stopping texts does not unsubscribe you from campaign email, and unsubscribing from email does not stop texts. They are separate, and you can end either one on its own.

How to get help

Reply HELP to any message and you will get a reply telling you who is texting you and how to reach the campaign. You can also write to info@redway4council.com at any time.

Who can sign up

You must be at least 18 years old and be the account holder for the mobile number, or have the account holder's permission, before you give that number to the campaign.

Your privacy

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Our full privacy policy explains everything else the campaign collects and what happens to it.
